The female cadets from 162 battled against other squadrons in the Inter Wing hockey competition. The girls fought hard and beat local rivals 1196 squadron, and drew with a well prepared team from 284 Squadron. Good effort girls.
Flight Sergeant Lucy Williams has just been presented with her Air Cadet Pilot wings after completing an intensive course in the Grob Tutor - Congratualtions and well done on this great achievement.
The Squadron Staff and NCOs are currently in the process of constructing both a rifle range and a flight simulator. These two projects are due to be completed shortly and will make the cadet's time at the squadron both more enjoyable and exciting.
162 (Stockport) Squadron is one of 24 squadrons within the East Chesire and South Manchester (EC&SM) WIng ATC. The Squadron is run by a team of dedicated staff consisting of RAF VR(T) Officers, ATC NCO's, (Non Commissionned Officers) and Civilian Instructors. The squadron parades twice a week on a Monday and a Thursday evening. The parade nights begin at 19:00 and finish at 21:30.
During parade nights cadets can become involved in a number of activities such as shooting, leadership exercises, and drill. Aswell as parade nights there are additional activities cadets can participate in such as flying and gliding. More of the activities we participate in can be found here >>.
162 Squadron are recruting constantly throughout the year. All as you need to do is turn up on a regular parade evening (for times and days see the about us section) preferably with a parent so we can get the forms done with and allow you to join in with the rest of the squadron in whatever activities they are doing.
